ENFiber (European Network for Valorizing Food Processing Waste into Sustainable Fibers) is a COST Action (CA24111) addressing the challenge of food processing waste by converting underutilized by-products into commercially viable, sustainable fibers. The Action promotes green extraction technologies, standardized characterization, sustainability assessment, and market-oriented product development, fully aligned with European circular economy and Green Deal objectives.
Our Objectives

Target #1
Scientific
Excellence
Advance science and innovation through scalable and standardized fiber extraction and characterization methods

Target #2
Capacity
Building
Strengthen capacity building via training schools, mobility grants, and interdisciplinary collaboration

Target #3
Sustainability
Impact
Support sustainability and regulation through integrated environmental, economic, and social assessments

Target #4
Industry
Collaboration
Enable commercialization by aligning research outputs with industry and regulatory needs

Target #5
Social
Innovation
Create societal impact by reducing food waste and supporting sustainable material solutions

COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding agency for research and innovation networks. Our actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and enable scientists to grow their ideas by sharing them with their peers. This boosts their research, career and innovation.
